My Physiotherapy Journey

In 2015, having been inspired to learn more about anatomy and physiology from my journey studying yoga in Bali, Thailand and the U.K, I enrolled on a physiotherapy degree in Bristol.

In 2016 I qualified as a deep tissue/sports massage therapist, practising in a private health clinic in Bristol.

In 2019 I graduated as a physiotherapist and have since had experience working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in the NHS and privately- helping restore function and improve quality of life for those experiencing a range of musculoskeletal injuries from back pain to ankle and knee injuries.

In 2022, following the birth of my 2nd child I trained in pelvic health physiotherapy with the POGP and have been treating women with pelvic health symptoms across the lifespan within the NHS since, and now offer this service privately.

Yoga

My yoga offerings

At my classes you can expect creative flow, linked to the breath, drawing on hatha and vinyasa styles of yoga and peppered with anatomy insights, physiotherapy informed variations and yogic philosophy and mindfulness. I encourage discovering and building balanced stability and flexibility and use my physiotherapy knowledge to build progressive yoga sequences. I encourage laughter when we wobble in balances, ensure time for savasana relaxation at the end of class and am always on the hunt for the perfect accompanying music playlist!

All are welcome– I strive to offer variations to suit all and reminders to listen and engage with your body, so that you can learn when to challenge and when to pull back and be kind to yourself. Do what best serves you today, and quiet the comparison and judgement.

My yoga journey

I grew up in Plymouth, Devon and was first introduced to yoga at secondary school. These lunchtime classes gave me a calm space to move, re-set and energize for the rest of the day. I continued to practice sporadically, but it wasn’t until my early 20s, in need of direction, and with low self-esteem following an unhealthy relationship, that I started to embrace yoga more fully both for the mental as well as physical benefits.

In 2013 I flew to Bali to complete my teacher training with Shades of Yoga, and on returning to the UK immersed myself in further training with Christopher Gladwell and Sarah Harlow, Bristol.

Since then I have taught both vinyasa and hot yoga classes and 1-1’s in Bristol and am now based in Plymouth, offering a range of yoga styles, including vinyasa flow.

I continue to enjoy the ever evolving journey of discovery and learning that is yoga and LIFE!
